Those who do scrapbooking know what Cuttlebug is and what it does to a plain piece of paper – magic, that’s what it does! Only recently I’ve discovered the power of embossed paper via embossing folders and Cuttlebug. And I’m in, for good.
This little box has only a tiny strip of paper embossed with a scripture embossing folder. It was a regular printing sheet of paper I started with, later embossed, glued, distressed and varnished. And you can still feel the raised scripture image under your fingers… I say… lush!!

Wow I love the crackle effect and think I have those bird napkins. Do you apply the crackle under the napkin or over it? I’ll make sure to read your posts about using crackle effects too.

Hi Kim, thanks for stopping by. Well, with the crackle it depends on the motifs, here I used it over the napkin, but sometimes, with smaller motifs e.g. individual flowers, tiny stems etc. it’s better not to loose the motif under the crackle. Here, I used actually mod podge (matt) as a base and then, when it dried, I applied acrylic varnish and got small cracks the next day :). To keep the centre more or less ‘clean’ I only filled in the cracks with patina paste at the edges, leaving the middle untouched. Remember to seal any cracks only with polyurethane varnish first as using acrylic varnish on top of crackle medium will only make it ‘crack’ even more. Best is to buy a can of spray, go outside as it smells as hell, and go quickly over the whole surface, twice. Just bear in mind that it will make your work go slightly yellow, don’t overdo it as you may end up with yellowish stains here and there.
Good luck with your projects!

Kim, I just went over all your crafty things on FB, they’re fab! And the silver embossed chandelier just stole my heart 🙂

Thanks! The chandelier card was one of the quickest. I just sprinkled frantage embossing powder on black card and did normal silver embossing for the Stampendous chandelier stamp.
